The Temples
Minimize

All of the temples have local establishments in major cities throughout the known world.  There isn’t really any competition for patronage between the temples, as they are not considered religious groups.  The temples are collections of people that have gathered together to live under a similar ideology.

Blue Temple

The Blue Temple exists for the sole purpose of accumulating wealth and power.  Everything that they do is done to acquire more wealth and political influence.  Despite their vast amounts of wealth, the Blue Temple is very miserly and cuts costs wherever possible.  The Blue Temple has central administration, as well as local administration.

Since the fall of the Dark King in Inaria, the Blue Temple has started worshipping one of their own that has ascended to divinity.  He has led the Blue Temple in the region to accumulate more wealth than they had previously thought possible, and continually improves their gains with amazing insight and clarity of purpose, and his influence has spread to the free cities, Yambu, and the Orclands.

The Blue Temple’s colors are gold on blue.   Their symbol is a picture of a keep superimposed on three large golden circles.

White Temple

The White Temple has the philosophy that healing should be available to anyone.  They do not demand payment for their services, but encourage donations from those that have the means.  Members of the White Temple are trained in the healing arts and are also freely taught healing magic.  Overall, they are pacifistic, but do employ some guards in order to maintain order within the walls of their compounds and escort their healers when they are traveling.  Each White Temple is a separate entity, and there is no major central administration.  The White Temple will “rent” its healers out to governments and the other temples.

The White Temple has an order of paladins that originated in the free cities, but spread to the Inarian region shortly before the fall of the Dark King.  Unlike the core of the White Temple, their motto is “Prevent harm from being done.”  They do not see the irony of their motto, but mercilessly pursue and destroy those that they think will do harm.

The White Temple’s colors are red on white.  Their symbol is a picture of a hand, palm forward with outstretched thumb.

Red Temple

The Red Temple is dedicated to the pursuit of happiness and pleasure.  Their establishments are beautiful buildings with the finest of everything.  Almost any pleasure may be had inside the walls of a Red Temple establishment, including (but not limited to) food and drink, drugs, and other physical pleasures.  No establishment in any city rivals a Red Temple in the extravagance and delights that are offered within.

The Red Temple’s colors are black on red.  Their symbol is a picture of a roaring lion.
