 'Spell' Casting
Minimize

Divine Power is a wildcard skill (IQ) and receives a bonus from Power Investiture.

Any spells in colleges associated with the deity may be cast, and begins at the top level with a 0 penalty to the Divine Power skill, with -1 penalty per spell prerequisite for any non-root spell. Very Hard spells have an additional -1 skill penalty. Points may be spent as a Hard Manuever to reduce the penalty, or increase skill. Colleges that are specified with a parentheses means that it is a 'minor' college, and only goes up to 5 prerequisite level deep. Spells that are greater than the number of prerequisites carry an additional -5 penalty to cast, and have to be learned by spending points as a Hard Maneuver to reduce penalty.

Spells from other colleges may be LEARNED with a -5 penalty, and cannot be cast without spending points to learn the specific spell. Again, prerequisites may be ignored.

Energy available for spellcasting will be based on the relative power level / influence of the deity, but the standard is 15 energy per level of power investiture, and it may be replenished through an hour of prayer.

A priest may charge their holy symbol and use it as a powerstone, and it will charge up to twice the priest's base energy level at the rate of [2/4/6] per day (normal sanctity / high sanctity / very high sanctity). Priests of the same faith that use a physical holy symbol may draw from another priest's holy symbol, but may only charge their own. Some deities prefer to have their priests tattoo their symbol, and those cannot be drawn upon by another priest.

 Cosmic Religion
Minimize

Cosmic deities are different from run-of-the-mill deities in that they do not exist solely because people believe in them.  Their abilities, and the abilities that they grant to their followers, are not magical in nature, but are based in Cosmic powers.  The difference between these deities and belief-based deities is that they truly exist, rather than being created by the will of mass consciousness.

Cosmic deities will choose agents among their followers that they grant extraordinary abilities that resemble magic (for gameplay purposes) in order to further their own agendas.  Some of the known cosmic deities are listed below:

Innos - God of Order

Priests have access to the following colleges: "Creation" spells (not Illusion), "Light" spells (not Dark), Fire, Protection, Healing (5), "Making" (not Breaking).  Additionally, priests of Innos can Destroy Undead through the undoing of chaos focused at an undead creature.

Adanos - God of Balance

Always trying to undo the extremist actions of Innos and Beliar and their respective followers, Adanos vies to maintain the balance between the two.

Priests of Adanos have access to the following colleges: Animal, Body, Comm & Empathy, Healing, Plant (5), and Water.  Priests of Adanos have the ability to Turn Undead.

Beliar - Lord of Chaos

Priests of Beliar have access to the following colleges: "Illusion" (not creation), "Darkness" (not Light), "Breaking" (not Making), Mind Control, Movement (5) and Necromancy.  They have the ability to Create Undead and Control Undead.

 Belief-Based Religion
Minimize

Far more common than Cosmic Religion is Belief-Based religion.  This form of religion is more common because it diefies based on common belief, and people are easily beguiled into believing in things.  The Greek/Roman Pantheon gods are an example of this - many people believe in the various gods (such as Hermes and Vulcan) and therefore they exist.  The power of these gods is directly related to the number of people that believe in them, and the powers they wield and grant followers is also based on what the followers believe.

The Immortal Salinius has taken advantage of this form of religion, and is reaping the rewards. He has many followers ranging throughout the East, although most are in Khorinis, where the god himself resides.
