Either I am becoming godlike, or my companions are getting better in
battle, or maybe even a little bit of both. I do believe my heroism
is starting to inspire those around me.

While investigating the mausoleum we found numerous hosts of undead
lying wait for who knows what. Mort was on to their little scheme and
began bashing them in their beds. Following suit I bashed several
before taking a more tactical position back with my companions.
Battle ensued and we were once again victorious. And this time, death
was no where even close to my doorstep.

It's kind of nice to go through a battle without nearly dying. I'll
have to keep that in mind for next time. After all, I don't think it
would be very fun to be a dead hero.

Things took quite a turn when we got back into town. Upon arriving I
was approached by Tim, one of the local merchants, who told me that
there were some people asking a lot of questions about me and my
family. They mentioned something about a sword and gauntlets. All I
can figure is someone is after those cursed items I brought back. I
wish there was some way they could know they've been destroyed.

It would appear they know I went to the abbey because someone broke
into Abbot Gregor's office but took nothing. I was assured by the
abbot that the items were indeed destroyed. I pray to Omni that is
the case.

But my family won't be safe until the bandits are convinced of the
item's destruction. I also fear for Robbie who is on his way back to
Pangoria. They were asking questions about him too.

It's ironic. I started adventuring to secure a future for my
family. So far I've done little of that, but now I've actually put
them in danger. Stitch may actually have the right
idea............Again. He sure is wise for such a weird duck.

I'd like to go after these guys, but how can I ensure my family will
be safe? Larry and James said they'd look after them but if these
guys are as powerful as they seem, it's going to take a lot more than
two people to protect my family. I'm sure Mort would be more than
happy to stay back and watch over them but it's not like I'm going to
let that happen.

I'm starting to think that he really does like Flora. And I'm not
quite so certain that she doesn't like him back. I'm almost scared
to leave them alone together, but at the same time I don't want to
even think about Mort with my sister. He likes to act all innocent
and everything but I think it's all a ploy. I was there with the
Thurson twins. He tries to play it out like it was all my fault, but
I could hear what was going on over there with he and Chastity. It
was all I could do to keep up. And it's not like I was going to be
outdone by the town mockery.

So no way, no how is he staying behind without me. I guess I'm just
going to have to put up with their crap, because there's no way he'll
make a move if I'm actually there............will he?

Anyway, Vance is following a lead so we should know some more by
morning, If he doesn't do something stupid that is.

Awaking from a deep slumber, I felt extremely rested, yet somehow
still tired. It was as if I hadn't eaten in days and my joints were
stiff as if I hadn't used them for a while. It was at that point
that I noticed I was in my own room. What happened? Am I dreaming?
The last thing I remembered was being stuck in a pitch black room
with some sort of being that was making a rattling sound.

I more closely examined my surroundings and found that everything was
in place and seemed to be in order. I poked my head out of my room
to find the sound of Rosie's voice singing in the kitchen. By the
look of the sun just creeping over the hillside and the smell of
bacon and eggs coming from downstairs I determined that it was early
morning, on which day I knew not.

I immediately began to think backwards. Did we really go out to the
forest to track down Robbie and the other prisoners or was that just
a dream? I hobbled my way down the stairs and plopped myself down at
the kitchen table. It took Rosie a minute to notice me as she was
busy about her normal routine. As she turned around, with a bit of
sarcasm in her voice, she said "So he awakes from the dead, or should
I say undead?" Not quite knowing what she meant, but used to her
sarcastic remarks, I lifted an eyebrow and asked her what was for
breakfast. "Oh just the usual, bacon, eggs & oatmeal, that is unless
you would prefer a pint of blood.", She said menacingly. With an
even more confused and even disgusted look on my face I demanded to
know what she was talking about.

It turns out that I had not been dreaming and the creature with the
rattle was a goblin vampire and I was its dinner, at least for a
moment or two. Just then Flora walked into the room and was more
than happy to continue the story. "Luckily Mort was there to save
the day." She sighed, a bit too passionately for my liking.
Just then there was a knock at the door. Stitch came in shortly
after to greet me and told me there was a Priest of Omni staying at
the Merchant's Last. Though still hungry I threw on some clothes and
ran out the door. Along the way I realized I hadn't showered,
probably in days, so I pulled a Kess and used my wand of clean. The
air around me suddenly smelled a little better. I can't believe my
sisters hadn't commented on that.

After arriving I was pleased to hear that Gavon, the priest of Omni
was still there. I was even more pleased to hear he wouldn't be down
for about another hour. I ordered some more breakfast and ate and
ate and ate until a man in white and red robes sat down at the bar.
I looked to Roger assuming that this fellow was Gavon. Roger nodded.
I introduced myself and inquired about Omni. Gavon's eyes lit up.
He told me everything I wanted to know about Omni and more. I showed
him the candelabra I had in my possession and told him of the temple
near Red Cliff. During this time Mort found his way to the inn and
told me that we were off to find Hugo at a Suul camp later on this
afternoon and we would be passing near Red Cliff. Gavon was pleased
to hear that I would lead him to the temple. I gave the candelabra
to Gavon and we parted ways until later that afternoon.

After running a few errands and eating a few more times we all met
back at the inn before departing. We made haste so we could catch up
to the army that was sent ahead of us. After catching up with the
army we arrived near the Suul camp, lied wait and planned our
attack. Mort and I were first and foremost to volunteer for the
front line. I think we both had our eyes on the prize of giving Hugo
the beat down. Battle shortly thereafter ensued and we got our wish
of beating Hugo to a bloody pulp, a bloody pulp that was still alive
so he couldn't come back as he has done twice before.

Once we were victorious I immediately began looking for a lizard.
Ever since I heard that you could ride them fiercely into battle I've
wanted one. There was one man who seemed to know a bit about them.
He said they are very difficult to train but once they've been
trained they are very very loyal to their owner. We carefully chose
one of the younger ones and Darby said he'd help me where possible.
Once we got everything taken care of in the camp we parted ways with
the army and Gavon so they could escort Hugo back to Tristen. I gave
Gavon directions from where we were to the temple and told him I
could show him another time if he needed me to. Then we were off to
Pangoria. I spent every chance I could playing with my lizard. I
found that at night I could get some "quality" time with him because
he doesn't like the cold and he likes having a warm body next to
him. I think I'm going to call him Spooner.

During our journey we came across a girl that was being hanged. She
was on her tippy toes and was about to teeter off of the small peg
that was left for her to "stand" on. After freeing her she said she
was involved in some scandal with the Mayor's brother in a town
nearby. "I swear I didn't know he was married." She said. We later
found out that she killed the man's wife in a struggle but it
appeared to be by accident.

We decided to go into town to investigate further. I had to stay
behind with Spooner because there's nowhere to stable him in town.
What a pain!!! I need to figure something out so I don't always have
to camp in the woods. Having a lizard is cool and all but I gotta
have a night life. I'd like to spoon with something besides a lizard
every once in a while.

The past day's events have been rather odd. We were approached by a man named Korvis and some of his bum buddies. This guy thought he was soooooooo "flaming" important and wanted everyone to know it. I began to make suggestions about his twinkle toed attitude. Ignoring my statements completely he added that he was the magistrate for a city by the name of Glimmering, nonetheless. This only confirmed my suspicions.
After bantering back and forth for a bit we found that Kess actually had the item they were looking for. Not really sure how that happened, we decided it must have been the man who wandered through our camp previous to these fanny bandits.
We didn't really care to keep the item since we had no idea what it was and frankly I think everyone just wanted the fairy princess to leave. So we gave them the item and went on our way.
We arrived in Glimmering to find they had a tower erected (pun intended) in the middle of the city that glimmered. I was starting to suspect that we had entered a place where sequined shirts and tight leather pants were too much of a common place.
Upon arriving we were directed to the Rusty Mug for accommodations. I joked with one fellow by the name of Aaron, who seemed to think that Griswold was Schmendrick of all people, that we were looking for the Musty Rug. I was surprised at his answer when he told me it was just down the street. After correcting him that we were actually looking for the Rusty Mug he quickly denied knowing of a place called the Musty Rug.
Mort asked where he could find the local Sentinel and headed off in the direction he was pointed. Figuring it best not to wander off alone I offered to accompany him. BAD MISTAKE!!! There's several hours of my life I'll never get back. Oh well. I would have felt horrible if something would have happened to him.
After hours of torment and boredom we made it back to the rusty mug. Shortly thereafter we were off to help with a local ghost problem. Finally some action!!! I was sad to find out we were only trying to capture the ghosts.
We arrived at the library to find some lady ghost throwing books around looking for some book about a dog. When we asked her if she knew she was dead she made some ridiculous face in an attempt to be scary. I told her that it wasn't scary and calmly asked if she thought my sword was scary. Apparently she did because she started crying and fled downstairs. Well, she may be a ghost but she's still a woman, way too over dramatic. Then, boredom set in once again. Not really sure what happened after that except we found what she was looking for and decided to let her stay and help out in the library.
We headed back to the inn and went to bed. Sometime during the night I heard a woman scream from across the hall. I thought to myself, either Kess is having another nightmare or he's exposing himself to some poor creature. Doesn't he know the ladies in this town don't play baseball unless they bring their own bat? Anyway, it turns out I was wrong on both accounts. It turns out there was some sort of slimy ghost that's floating around the building going through walls and looking at girls while they're sleeping. I assured the woman she was safe now and in an attempt to find out if everyone in this town really was gay I offered to let her stay in my room. I was surprised when she accepted. Maybe I was all wrong about this place.
I sent for a few drinks to help set her nerves at ease. It was shortly after that she made it blatently obvious that there was absolutely no chance for some chitty chitty bang bang. I knew it!!!!! I was right all along. We've got to get out of this place!
