Honestly, Snake Syndicate does sound better to me than Maelstrom. I only mentioned the ones I did because I wanted to vote on some names that had already seemed popular; plus I couldn't resist when I saw the ones that made me chuckle.

On the other hand, Snake Syndicate is more likely to draw inappropriate conversation—something that didn't occur to me until Sean pointed it out—to the table than Maelstrom and some other names. That's something I'd like to avoid if possible. Although, it doesn't seem to matter what we're talking about, it always seems to go that direction anyway. Still, some words are more encouraging than others.

Another concern I have with the Snake Syndicate is it makes us sound sly and possibly like villains.

Maybe a synonym or similar creature to a snake like serpent, hydra, or even leviathan might help to resolve my concerns. Of course, some of those lose the meaning behind choosing the word. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

The above being said, if people like this one more than Maelstrom, I'll go with it. The name doesn't mean that much to me. We could call ourselves the Fluffy Kittens and I'd be OK with it.

Edit: Changed Fluffy Rabbits to Fluffy Kittens.

Seriously, if you guys don't have one by the next time I run (a gap of 6 weeks between the sessions), then I'm going to come up with one that people will have just started using.
